Bengaluru Air Quality Improves As AQI Remains In Healthy Range

Recent rain and steady winds have helped clear pollutants across Bengaluru, leaving air quality largely healthy today and making outdoor activities more comfortable for residents.

Bengaluru air quality remains healthy today.

AQI levels are favorable across major Karnataka cities.

Outdoor activities are suitable in most areas.

Bengaluru Air Quality Today

Bengaluru is seeing relatively clean air today, with the average Air Quality Index reported around 42 to 49. An AQI between 0 and 50 is generally classified as good, indicating that pollution levels are low and conditions are comfortable for most people.

Recent rainfall and improved wind movement appear to have helped disperse pollutants. Fine particles such as PM2.5 and PM10 are also reported to be under control, although conditions can vary from one locality to another.

Traffic Heavy Areas See Slightly Higher Levels

The cleaner conditions are not identical across the city. Areas such as Jayanagar, Malleshwaram and Hebbal are reporting better air quality, while busy stretches including Silk Board and Whitefield can see AQI levels moving towards the 50 to 65 range.

The difference is largely linked to traffic volume and local activity. Residents near major roads may therefore notice slightly more polluted air despite the overall improvement across the city.

Karnataka Cities Also Report Better Air

The favorable conditions are not limited to Bengaluru. Mysuru is recording AQI levels around 35 to 40, placing it among the cleaner urban areas in the state.

Mangaluru and other coastal locations are also benefiting from sea winds, with the AQI around 38. In Hubballi Dharwad and Belagavi, levels are broadly in the 45 to 58 range, indicating generally satisfactory air conditions.

Good Day For Outdoor Activities

With pollution levels remaining relatively low, today is a comfortable day for walking, jogging and other outdoor activities in most parts of the state.

Children and older residents can also enjoy outdoor activities under the current conditions. However, people who are particularly sensitive to air pollution should still keep an eye on local AQI readings, especially near busy roads.

The improvement offers Bengaluru residents a welcome break from days when traffic emissions and stagnant air can make outdoor activities less pleasant.
