POCO M8x 5G Set To Launch In India With 12GB RAM And 6000mAh Battery
POCO M8x 5G is expected to target budget buyers with a new Snapdragon chipset, high refresh rate display, large battery and up to 12GB RAM.
POCO is preparing to expand its M8 lineup in India with the upcoming M8x 5G. The smartphone is scheduled to launch on August 21 at noon, with sales expected through Flipkart.
The company has already highlighted the phone’s processor and memory capabilities ahead of the launch. POCO claims the M8x 5G will be the first smartphone in India to use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. The company has also claimed an AnTuTu score of more than 650000.
Memory is another major talking point. The phone is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM, combining 6GB of physical RAM with an additional 6GB through virtual RAM expansion. LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage are also expected, although the complete configuration will be confirmed at launch.
The display could make the phone more attractive to buyers looking for smoother scrolling. According to leaked information, the M8x 5G may feature a 6.9 inch HD Plus IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Battery capacity is expected to be another strong point. The smartphone could pack a 6000mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging. It may also run Android 16 based HyperOS 3, though these details remain subject to official confirmation.
Price will be closely watched as POCO has not yet announced the official figure. Tipster Yogesh Brar has suggested that the Indian price could remain below 20000 rupees. The phone could therefore sit between the pricing of earlier M8 models.
The design appears to follow a more distinctive approach. Teaser images show a textured flat rear panel with a square camera housing positioned toward the upper left. A green finish has been shown, along with gold coloured accents around the frame and camera area. The power and volume controls are placed on the right side.
POCO has not revealed every specification yet, so details such as the camera setup and final pricing will become clearer during the August 21 launch. For buyers seeking a budget 5G smartphone with a large battery and plenty of memory, the M8x 5G could be worth watching.
