Weak Monsoon Conditions Continue Across Karnataka With Light Rain Expected in Select Districts
The monsoon remains weak across Karnataka though light rainfall and gusty winds are likely in coastal and hill districts over the next two days according to weather forecasts

The southwest monsoon has weakened across Karnataka, resulting in a noticeable decline in rainfall activity. Despite the reduced intensity, the India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate showers in a few coastal and hilly districts over the next two days, along with strong winds in several parts of the state.
According to the latest forecast, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are expected to receive light rainfall on July 14 and July 15. Wind speeds of around 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are also likely in these coastal districts, prompting residents to remain alert during outdoor activities.
The Malnad region is also expected to witness scattered showers. Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu could receive light rainfall accompanied by gusty winds. While heavy rain is not anticipated, changing weather conditions may affect travel and agricultural work in these areas.
In North Interior Karnataka, Belagavi and Dharwad are likely to experience isolated rain during the forecast period. Other districts including Bagalkote, Bidar, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir are expected to remain mostly dry, although strong winds reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour may occur.
Southern Interior Karnataka is expected to see limited rainfall activity outside the Malnad belt. Districts such as Ballari, Vijayanagara, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapur and Kolar are more likely to experience gusty winds than significant rainfall.
The weather pattern is expected to remain similar on July 15, with scattered light showers continuing in the coastal districts and parts of the hill region. Most remaining areas of Karnataka are unlikely to receive meaningful rainfall during this period.
Weather officials have advised farmers, motorists and people working outdoors to exercise caution because of the possibility of strong winds even in places where rainfall remains limited. While the monsoon has temporarily weakened, weather conditions can change quickly, and authorities will continue to monitor the situation and issue updated forecasts if necessary.
