Hundreds of vintage motorcycle enthusiasts gathered in Bengaluru as the International Jawa Yezdi Day united riders from India and overseas celebrating heritage friendship timeless machines and unforgettable journeys together

Bengaluru turned into a paradise for classic motorcycle lovers as the city hosted the 24th edition of International Jawa Yezdi Day. The event brought together hundreds of riders who proudly showcased their well preserved vintage motorcycles, creating a memorable celebration of history, passion, and community. The gathering took place at Baldwin Boys High School grounds in Richmond Town, where enthusiasts from different generations spent the day sharing stories and admiring iconic machines.
The celebration has grown far beyond a local event over the years. What started as a small gathering of a handful of Jawa and Yezdi owners has now evolved into a global tradition that attracts thousands of participants every year. Riders say the event is more than just a motorcycle rally because it represents friendships built through a shared love for classic bikes and memorable road journeys.
This year’s edition witnessed participation on an unprecedented scale. More than 7500 riders joined the celebrations across over 150 Indian cities, with over 40 motorcycle clubs taking part in coordinated events. The enthusiasm was not limited to India as riders from 11 countries also marked the occasion through local rides, community meetups, and online interactions, making it one of the biggest editions in the event’s history.
The festival, observed every year on the second Sunday of July, highlighted the timeless appeal of vintage Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles. Classic machines that have been on the roads for decades shared space with modern versions, offering visitors a glimpse into the evolution of motorcycling while preserving the charm of the original models.
The atmosphere at the venue remained lively throughout the day. Senior riders revisited cherished memories while standing beside motorcycles they had owned or admired in their younger years. Younger visitors explored the beautifully restored bikes with curiosity, clicked photographs, interacted with owners, and learned about the legacy of these iconic brands. Various competitions and community activities added to the festive mood.
For many participants, the gathering was not just about displaying motorcycles but about celebrating a bond that has lasted across generations. Riders exchanged travel experiences, restoration stories, and unforgettable adventures, strengthening the sense of belonging within the Jawa and Yezdi community.
Speaking about the journey of the event, Classic Legends Co Founder Anupam Thareja said the celebration began nearly twenty four years ago with a small group of passionate riders who simply wanted to honour their favourite motorcycles. Today, he noted, it has grown into an international tradition that continues to connect enthusiasts across countries and generations. He credited the riders themselves for keeping the spirit of the community alive through every ride, gathering, and shared experience.
Classic Legends, the company behind the revival of the Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA motorcycle brands, continues to focus on bringing iconic motorcycles back to modern riders while preserving their heritage. The company aims to offer products and experiences that celebrate authentic motorcycling culture and inspire a new generation of enthusiasts.
As the celebrations concluded in Bengaluru, the event once again proved that classic motorcycles continue to inspire loyalty, nostalgia, and excitement. For thousands of riders across the world, International Jawa Yezdi Day remains a tribute to enduring engineering, lifelong friendships, and the timeless joy of the open road.
