Karnataka Heavy Rainfall for Next 3 Days: Issued Alert for Coastal Districts

Bengaluru: The Southwest Monsoon has gained significant momentum across Karnataka, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to forecast heavy rainfall over various districts in the coming days. Karnataka Heavy Rainfall for Next 3 Days: Issued Alert for Coastal Districts.

While a ‘Yellow Alert’ remains in place for the coastal belt until June 29, the region will transition to an ‘Orange Alert’ from June 29 to July 1 due to an expected spike in rain intensity.

Districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada are likely to witness heavy showers accompanied by gusty winds speeding up to 30–40 km/h. Concurrently, Malnad districts like Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu are braced for moderate to heavy downpours with strong surface winds.

In North Interior Karnataka, areas within Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Kalaburagi will experience moderate rainfall. Meanwhile, Bagalkote, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir are expected to get light to moderate showers, with a Yellow Alert scheduled for these pockets after June 29.

Capital city Bengaluru (Urban and Rural) along with Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Ballari, and Vijayanagara will see moderate rain accompanied by strong winds.

As the weather department predicts peak rainfall intensity between June 29 and July 1 across most parts of the state, authorities have strictly advised the public to stay cautious and urged fishermen not to venture into the rough seas.
