Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Set for 16 June with Dual Camera and Dimensity 8500 Ultra Power

New Redmi smartphone arrives in India next week bringing flagship level features like dual rear cameras high refresh display and massive battery under the Turbo series debut lineup

Redmi is preparing to expand its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi Turbo 5, scheduled for 16 June. This will mark the first device under the Turbo series in the country, and it is expected to attract strong attention from performance focused buyers. The phone will be available in white and black colour options and will be sold through Xiaomi’s official stores as well as Amazon.

The device has already been introduced in China earlier this year, and the Indian variant is expected to carry similar specifications. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra octa core chipset, designed to deliver high end performance in the upper mid range segment. Redmi has also confirmed that the phone will feature a 1.5K flat fluid display with a 120Hz refresh rate, aiming to offer a smooth viewing experience for gaming and multimedia users.

On the camera front, the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to come with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50 megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX882 support and an 8 megapixel ultra wide lens. The camera system will support optical and electronic image stabilisation along with 4K video recording at 60fps. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone will include a 20 megapixel front camera.

Interestingly, the Chinese variant of the device features a 6.59 inch 1.5K OLED display with Dolby Vision support and peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, which highlights the premium direction of the series. The phone runs on Android 16 based Xiaomi HyperOS 3, offering an updated software experience.

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Turbo 5 is its massive 7560mAh battery, which supports 100W fast charging and 27W reverse charging. The inclusion of an ultrasonic in display fingerprint sensor adds another layer of security and modern usability to the device.

With Redmi strengthening its presence in the mid range market in recent years, the Turbo 5 is expected to play an important role in expanding its reach among performance driven smartphone users in India.
