Smart wearable brand Oura has officially introduced its latest health focused device, the Oura Ring 5. The company says the new model is significantly smaller and more comfortable than its previous generation, making it easier for users to wear throughout the day and night. Along with a compact design, the ring brings several new AI powered health and fitness features aimed at improving wellness tracking.
The Oura Ring 5 arrives with a titanium body and a refined curved design that gives it a premium look. The device comes with IP68 water resistance and can reportedly handle water exposure up to 100 meters. To improve durability, Oura has added a scratch resistant PVD coating. One of the biggest highlights of the new smart ring is its upgraded sensor system. Oura says the Ring 5 uses low profile sensor domes and more powerful LED sensors to improve skin contact and deliver more accurate readings across different skin tones and finger types. The company has also added 12 enhanced signal pathways to boost the accuracy of sleep tracking, activity monitoring and readiness analysis.
The new Health Radar system is another major addition to the wearable. Users can additionally view long term breathing pattern trends collected over a 30 day period.
Fitness tracking has also received several improvements. The Oura Ring 5 now supports live workout tracking directly inside the app. Users can monitor heart rate, pace and distance in real time during activities like running, cycling and strength training. Oura has also improved automatic workout detection for lower movement exercises such as Pilates. Third party heart rate monitor support has been included as well.

Oura Advisor AI will provide personalized wellness guidance based on user data and activity patterns. Oura has also partnered with healthcare and wellness companies including Resmed and Counsel Health to improve sleep and breathing support services powered by artificial intelligence.
Battery life remains another strong point of the new wearable. Oura says the optional charging case can provide backup support for nearly one month. The company has also introduced privacy focused tools including data deletion controls, multi ring support and user controlled sharing permissions.
In terms of pricing, the standard version of the Oura Ring 5 starts at 399 dollars, while premium finish variants are priced at 499 dollars. The company will also offer an optional membership plan for advanced services and AI features. Global pre orders have already started and shipping is scheduled to begin from June 4, 2026.
With smart rings becoming increasingly popular in the wearable market, Oura is aiming to strengthen its position by combining compact hardware with advanced AI health tools. The Ring 5 appears to target users looking for detailed wellness insights without wearing a bulky smartwatch every day.
