Siddaramaiah thanks voters for congress bypoll wins in Bagalkot and Davanagere

Bengaluru,  : Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday expressed gratitude to voters for supporting Congress candidates in the by-elections held in Bagalkot and Davanagere assembly constituencies, calling the results a validation of the government’s performance and the party’s ideology.

In an official media statement, the Chief Minister said the victories reflect public endorsement of the state government’s achievements and its welfare-oriented governance model. “Despite misinformation campaigns and the influence of money power by opposition parties, voters in both constituencies have reposed faith in the Congress and its governance,” he stated.

Siddaramaiah emphasised that the mandate is not limited to the two constituencies but represents the confidence of people across Karnataka. He assured that the government would continue to work towards fulfilling public expectations and maintaining the trust placed in it. “We are committed to delivering on our promises and strengthening pro-people policies,” he added.

He also expressed confidence that the electorate would continue to support Congress in future elections, including the next विधानसभा polls. According to him, the bypoll outcomes send a broader political message beyond Karnataka, particularly regarding the rejection of divisive politics.

Referring to southern states, Siddaramaiah said the results reinforce the idea that states like Karnataka and Telangana have resisted what he termed as “communal politics.” He added that similar trends are visible in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, where voters have consistently supported secular and democratic values.

The Chief Minister congratulated voters in these regions for upholding democratic principles and supporting inclusive governance. He noted that Congress’ expected success in Kerala is a result of strong organisational efforts and strategic campaigning by party leaders.

Siddaramaiah also acknowledged the role of senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, crediting their sustained efforts and engagement with the electorate for strengthening the party’s position.

He expressed optimism that the Congress legislature party in Kerala would soon elect its leader and form a stable government. “Just like in Karnataka, Congress will deliver governance that becomes a model for the entire country,” he said.

Highlighting regional political dynamics, Siddaramaiah added that Congress’ victory in neighbouring Kerala would further strengthen the party’s base in Karnataka and across southern India.
