BYD Introduces Updated Atto 3 With Extended Range and Fast Charging Technology
New electric SUV version brings improved battery options longer driving range upgraded design and advanced features as BYD strengthens its position in the growing global electric vehicle market segment

Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has revealed an upgraded version of its popular BYD Atto 3, focusing on improved range, design refinements and faster charging capabilities. The announcement highlights the company’s continued push to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving EV segment.
The refreshed model was recently showcased at the Beijing Auto Show, where details about its performance and design upgrades were shared. One of the biggest talking points is the claimed driving range of up to 630 kilometers under CLTC standards, depending on the battery variant.
Buyers will have two battery options to choose from. The smaller 57.54 kWh pack is expected to deliver around 540 kilometers of range, while the larger 68.54 kWh unit extends that figure significantly. Both versions are paired with a rear mounted electric motor, offering a balance between efficiency and performance.
Another notable upgrade is the introduction of a new fast charging system. According to reports, the SUV can charge from 10 percent to 97 percent in just about nine minutes under optimal conditions. If real world performance matches these claims, it could significantly reduce charging downtime for users.
Design changes are also evident. The updated Atto 3 features a revised rear profile with new tail lights, a floating roof effect and an illuminated brand logo. The overall dimensions have been increased compared to earlier versions, which is expected to enhance both road presence and cabin space.
Inside the cabin, the SUV offers a mix of comfort and technology. Features include a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, a two spoke steering wheel and a 16 speaker premium audio system. High speed charging ports and other convenience features aim to improve the overall driving experience.
Meanwhile, the company is also preparing for price adjustments in markets like India. Rising raw material costs and global economic pressures have prompted BYD to consider a price increase of up to three percent across its electric vehicle lineup.
With stronger battery performance, rapid charging capabilities and a refreshed design, the latest Atto 3 appears to be positioned as a more refined and practical option for buyers considering a shift to electric mobility.
