Redmi R70 Series Unveiled with Big Battery and Budget 5G Focus
New Redmi R70 and R70m smartphones appear on official listing featuring large displays powerful entry level performance and massive battery capacity targeting budget 5G users in coming market rollout

The budget smartphone segment is set for another expansion as Xiaomi prepares to introduce two new devices under its popular Redmi lineup. The upcoming Redmi R70 5G and Redmi R70m 5G have been spotted on the company official China website, marked with a coming soon status.
Although the phones are not yet available for purchase, the listing confirms that Xiaomi is targeting the entry level 5G segment with a strong focus on battery life and large display experience. Both models appear to share a similar design language and specifications, making them closely related variants in the same series.
The devices are expected to launch in multiple color options including Feather White, Starry Black, Blue, and Purple. Their design approach suggests Redmi is continuing its strategy of offering simple but practical smartphones for everyday users.
Both models feature a 6.9 inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals for scrolling and basic gaming. However, the resolution remains at 720p plus, indicating that the focus is more on battery efficiency and affordability rather than premium display quality.
Performance wise, the smartphones are powered by the Unisoc T8300 built on a 6nm process. This is paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, ensuring stable performance for daily tasks such as calling, browsing, and light app usage. The devices will run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, offering a modern software experience.
Storage configurations differ between the two models. The Redmi R70 5G offers options ranging from 4GB RAM with 128GB storage up to 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the R70m 5G skips lower variants and starts at higher configurations, going up to 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
Battery capacity is one of the biggest highlights of this series. The Redmi R70 packs a 6000mAh battery, while the R70m takes it slightly further with a 6300mAh unit. Both devices support 15W charging, prioritizing long lasting usage over fast charging speeds.
Camera setup on both phones remains basic, with an 8 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls, along with a 13 megapixel single rear camera. This indicates that the series is clearly designed for users who prioritize battery backup and affordability over advanced photography features.
With this new lineup, Xiaomi seems to be reinforcing its presence in the budget 5G category, offering practical devices that focus on essential performance, large screens, and extended battery life for everyday users.
