Canada will be increasing the fees applicable for all Canada PR (permanent residence) applications, starting April 30. Permanent resident visa processing cost differs according to the immigration program you select to apply through. The fee increases will apply to economic, permit holder, family and humanitarian classes.
The Right of Canada PR Permanent Residence Fee for the applicant and accompanying spouse or common-law partner has been increased by CAD15 to CAD515. The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is paid by permanent resident applicants when their applications are approved. Permanent residence status is not granted until the RPRF is paid.
For those applying under Federal High Skilled, Provincial Nominee Program and Quebec Skilled Workers, Atlantic Immigration Class and most Economic Pilots, the following hike applies.
Principal applicant Current fee – CAD825 New fee – CAD850
Accompanying spouse or common-law partner Current fee – CAD825, New fee -CAD850
Accompanying dependent child Current fee -CAD225, New fee – CAD230
Fee for permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel documents and certification or replacement immigration documents will remain the same. Fees are expected to increase in two years based on the applicable Consumer Price Index increase rounded to the nearest $5. The next fee increase at the federal level is expected to be announced in 2024.

Canada, which plans to admit a record 432,000 new immigrants in 2022, is on target to hit this mark as the country welcomed 108,000 newcomers in the first three months of the year. In 2021, nearly 100,000 Indians became permanent residents of Canada as the country admitted a record 405,000 new immigrants in its history.
