The premium smartphone segment in India is witnessing intense competition as Vivo has officially launched the Vivo X300 Ultra in the country. The latest flagship device now directly competes with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Pro, three smartphones packed with powerful processors, advanced camera systems and premium displays designed for high end users.

While all three smartphones target photography lovers and performance focused buyers, each brand is trying to stand out with its own strengths. From camera technology to display quality and pricing, the competition has become tougher than ever in the flagship Android market.

Vivo has positioned the X300 Ultra as a premium camera focused smartphone. The device comes with a large 6.82 inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and sharp 3168×1440 pixel resolution. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, offering flagship level performance for gaming, multitasking and AI based features.

On the other hand, Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with a slightly larger 6.9 inch HyperRGB OLED display. The phone supports adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and offers peak brightness up to 3500 nits. Xiaomi has also equipped the smartphone with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making it a strong rival in terms of raw performance.

Oppo has taken a different route with the Find X9 Pro by using the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. The smartphone features a 6.78 inch AMOLED display with 3600 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Despite being the lightest and slimmest among the three devices, Oppo is still aiming to deliver premium level performance and camera capabilities.

The camera department is where the competition becomes even more interesting. Vivo X300 Ultra includes a massive 200 megapixel primary camera paired with another 200 megapixel periscope telephoto sensor and a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens. The company is clearly targeting users who want professional level zoom and photography features in a smartphone.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra also focuses heavily on imaging. The smartphone features a 50 megapixel main sensor with OIS support along with a powerful 200 megapixel telephoto lens and a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera. Xiaomi is promoting its advanced image processing and variable aperture technology as key highlights for photography enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, Oppo Find X9 Pro offers a quad camera setup that includes a 200 megapixel telephoto camera, 50 megapixel ultra wide sensor, 50 megapixel wide angle camera and an additional monochrome sensor. Oppo continues to emphasize portrait photography and balanced image quality across different lighting conditions.

All three smartphones feature 50 megapixel front cameras for selfies and video calls. Brands are increasingly focusing on high resolution front cameras as video content creation and virtual meetings continue to grow in popularity among smartphone users.

Software is another important area where these devices compete closely. Vivo X300 Ultra runs on Android 16 based Origin OS 6, while Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with HyperOS 2 based on Android 16. Oppo Find X9 Pro ships with ColorOS 16 built on Android 16 as well. Each company is offering its own customized user interface with AI features and personalization tools.

In terms of design and portability, Oppo Find X9 Pro appears to be the most compact and lightweight option with a weight of 203 grams. Xiaomi 17 Ultra weighs around 218 grams, while Vivo X300 Ultra is the heaviest among the three at 237 grams because of its large camera hardware.

Connectivity features remain premium across all models. Users get support for 5G, Wi Fi 7 or advanced Wi Fi standards, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS and USB Type C ports. Vivo and Oppo also include advanced USB 3.2 connectivity support for faster data transfer.

Pricing may ultimately influence buying decisions for many customers. The Vivo X300 Ultra is priced at Rs 159999 for the 16GB and 512GB variant, making it the most expensive model in this comparison. Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes at Rs 139999, while Oppo Find X9 Pro is the most affordable among the three with a starting price of Rs 109999 for the same storage configuration.

With flagship processors, high resolution camera systems and premium displays, all three smartphones are trying to dominate the ultra premium Android segment. The final choice for buyers may come down to whether they prioritize photography, performance, design or overall value for money.
