Samsung is reportedly preparing its next generation premium tablet lineup, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series expected to arrive in selected international markets soon. The upcoming family could include the Galaxy Tab S12, Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.

A recent leak has added to the speculation around the launch. Tipster Evan Blass shared an image on X that appears to show part of a Samsung tablet. The design reportedly resembles earlier leaked images associated with the Galaxy Tab S12 series, while the image also points towards October 7 as a possible launch date.

Samsung has not officially confirmed the launch date, so the October 7 timeline should be treated as a reported detail for now. More information is expected to emerge closer to the companys official announcement.

The leaked image shows only part of what is believed to be the standard Galaxy Tab S12. A waterdrop style notch can be seen near the top of the display area, while the power button and volume controls appear along the tablet frame.

The design reportedly has similarities with recently leaked images of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. The premium model is expected to continue Samsungs focus on a large flat display, while the front camera could sit inside a waterdrop style notch.

Camera hardware could also receive an upgrade. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is rumoured to feature a dual rear camera arrangement accompanied by an LED flash. However, detailed information about the camera sensors and their capabilities has not yet been confirmed.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could be offered in silver and black colour options. The premium tablet is also expected to support the S Pen stylus, which would make it suitable for note taking, drawing and other productivity focused tasks.

Performance could be one of the biggest changes in the upcoming series. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra was previously spotted on Geekbench under the model number SM X940. The listing reportedly showed a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor with an octa core configuration and a peak clock speed of 4.21GHz.

The benchmark listing also pointed towards Android 17 and 12GB of RAM. If these specifications remain accurate for the final product, the Tab S12 Ultra could be positioned as a high performance tablet aimed at users who want stronger processing capabilities for demanding applications and multitasking.

Samsung has not yet revealed the complete specifications of the Galaxy Tab S12 series. Details about display sizes, storage options, battery capacities, charging speeds and camera configurations are still awaited.

The new tablets are expected to sit above Samsungs more affordable Galaxy A series tablets. The company launched the Galaxy Tab A11 Plus in India last year, featuring an 11 inch TFT display and a 7040mAh battery with 25W wired charging support.

The Galaxy Tab A11 Plus also includes an 8 megapixel rear camera with autofocus and a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The upcoming Tab S12 series is expected to target a different segment, with the Ultra model likely focusing more heavily on premium hardware and performance.

With three models reportedly planned, the Galaxy Tab S12 series could give Samsung a broader lineup across different price and performance categories. The possible October 7 launch is currently based on leaked information, and the companys official announcement will be needed to confirm the date, models and specifications.
