Xiaomi has expanded its Redmi Note lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi Note 17 Pro alongside the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. The new smartphone focuses heavily on battery capacity, display quality and camera performance, while also offering a durable build for everyday use.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro comes with a large 9000mAh battery, making battery life one of its major highlights. The battery supports 67W HyperCharge fast charging, while 22.5W wired reverse charging allows the phone to provide power to compatible accessories and other devices.
Pricing starts at Rs 36,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, although the effective price is listed at Rs 33,999 after applicable launch benefits. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at Rs 39,999, with an effective price of Rs 36,999. Sales are scheduled to begin on September 17 through the official Xiaomi website and Amazon.
Customers using selected SBI Card, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IDFC First Bank cards can receive an instant discount of up to Rs 5,000 under the launch offer. HDB Financial Services customers can also get up to 10 percent cashback, capped at Rs 5,000, subject to the applicable payment terms.
Xiaomi is also bundling several additional benefits with the Redmi Note 17 Pro series. These include three months of YouTube Premium Lite and six months of Google One with 200GB cloud storage. Eligible Jio users can access an OTT pass for Rs 200, providing access to 16 premium applications. The launch package also includes benefits related to Google Gemini Pro for eligible customers.
On the front, the Redmi Note 17 Pro features a 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED Super Sunlight display. The screen has a 2772 by 1280 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 12 bit colour depth and a claimed peak brightness of 3500 nits. Xiaomi has also included hardware level low blue light technology and TÜV eye protection features for a more comfortable viewing experience.
The display supports Wet Touch 2.0, which is designed to improve touch responsiveness when the screen or users hands are wet. The phone also includes an in display fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
Performance comes from the octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 mobile platform. The device offers 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. This combination is aimed at handling everyday applications, multitasking and entertainment without requiring users to constantly manage storage or memory.
Photography is another important part of the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The rear camera system includes a 50 megapixel primary sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, supported by a 5P lens. It is paired with an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera for wider scenes and group photographs.

Xiaomi has highlighted additional SGS and TÜV certifications as part of the phones durability package.
Connectivity is broad, with support for 4G, 5G, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C. An infrared blaster is also included, allowing the phone to work with compatible household devices such as televisions and other remote controlled equipment.
The software experience is based on Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3. The company says HyperOS 3 brings system level improvements focused on performance, battery management and connectivity, along with a smoother experience across compatible Xiaomi devices.
Xiaomi has also promised four years of software updates and six years of security updates for the phone. That commitment could make the Redmi Note 17 Pro a longer term option for users who prefer to keep their smartphones for several years.
