Lava is preparing to introduce its new Virat series smartphone in India, with the Lava Virat Curve 5G scheduled to arrive on September 21. The company has confirmed that the launch event will begin at 12 noon, while the smartphone will be sold through Flipkart.
The rear mini display is one of the more unusual features of the upcoming phone. Positioned below the main camera area, the secondary screen can show notifications, time and other useful information without requiring users to check the main display every time.
On the front, the smartphone will carry a 6.67 inch FHD Plus 3D curved AMOLED display. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 1100 nits of peak brightness. The curved design gives the phone a more distinctive appearance while the high refresh rate is aimed at providing smoother scrolling and animations.
Lava is offering the Virat Curve 5G in two colour options called Heritage Indigo and Makrana Ivory. A dedicated product page for the smartphone has already been made available ahead of the launch.
Performance will come from the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. The phone is listed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, giving it a configuration aimed at users looking for a mid range smartphone with a relatively large storage capacity.
The Lava Virat Curve 5G will run on Android 16. The company has also stated that the device will receive two years of software updates along with three years of security updates. This support commitment could be an important consideration for buyers planning to keep the phone for several years.
Battery capacity is another major feature. The smartphone will have a 6000mAh battery and support 45W fast charging. The larger battery is expected to appeal to users who spend long hours watching videos, browsing social media or using mobile applications.
Photography will be handled by a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary camera. The sensor comes with an f/1.8 aperture and supports up to 10x digital zoom. The company is also bringing several AI based camera features to the device, adding software tools alongside the main camera hardware.
The phone will also include AI Call Summary and Circle to Search features. These tools are designed to make certain everyday tasks easier by using artificial intelligence to summarize information from calls or search for content directly from the screen.
Durability has received attention as well. The Lava Virat Curve 5G carries an IP64 rating and has MIL STD 810H certification. These specifications indicate that Lava is positioning the smartphone as a device designed to handle everyday environmental conditions.
