Realme 16x Spotted on BIS Listing Hints at India Launch with New Storage Options and Upgrades

Realme 16x has appeared on BIS certification suggesting an upcoming India launch with expected RAM and storage variants while reports hint it may replace Realme 15x and bring refreshed design and performance upgrades

Realme is preparing to expand its smartphone lineup in India with the upcoming Realme 16x, which has now been spotted on the BIS certification website. The listing of a device carrying the model number RMX5270 has triggered strong speculation that the launch is around the corner.

Although the certification does not reveal detailed specifications, it clearly indicates that Realme is gearing up to introduce the device in the Indian market soon. Industry reports also suggest that the Realme 16x could arrive as the successor to the Realme 15x, potentially replacing it in the mid range segment.

According to early leaks, the smartphone may be offered in multiple memory configurations including 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and a higher variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. This suggests that Realme is aiming to cater to both budget conscious and slightly more demanding users.

While the Realme 16x is still under wraps, looking at its predecessor gives an idea of what the company has been focusing on. The Realme 15x, launched earlier, featured a 6.8 inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. It was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and ran on Realme UI based on Android 15.

In terms of cameras, the Realme 15x offered a 50 megapixel rear camera along with a 50 megapixel front camera designed for selfies and video calls. It also came with a massive 7000mAh battery supported by 60W fast charging, making it a strong performer in its segment.

Meanwhile, Realme has also been active in the 16 series lineup. The recently launched Realme 16 5G brought noticeable upgrades including a 6.57 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness level reaching 4200 nits. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset paired with Android 16 based Realme UI 7.0.

Camera capabilities on the Realme 16 5G include a 50 megapixel primary sensor and a 2 megapixel monochrome lens at the rear, while the front houses another 50 megapixel camera for selfies. With these updates, Realme has clearly been pushing stronger performance and better imaging across its new generation devices.

As anticipation builds around the BIS listing, the Realme 16x is expected to continue this trend and strengthen the company’s position in the competitive mid range smartphone market in India.
