PUBG Mobile India update: Despite ban in sub-continent, this game emerges as winner globally in 2020

PUBG has become a rage among the gaming community globally, not just India. It can be gauged from the fact that despite the PUBG Mobile ban in India, it continues to hit headlines more than anything else.

The game has been banned not only in India but several other countries, including Pakistan and Afghanistan.. However, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology bluntly stated that the game did not get permission for the relaunch and thus, all plans of PUBG Mobile India coming back in the country have been jolted.

According to several reports, PUBG Mobile India’s launch is expected around March 2021 but that is if the government makes a significant change in their China policy. PUBG Mobile is banned in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and was banned for some time in Bangladesh.

Surprisingly, it was banned even in China but after some changes, it is back on track. Despite so many big markets in Asia and the sub-continent, PUBG Mobile has emerged as a winner globally for THIS one major factor.

According to a report by Inside Sport that quoted data from Sensor Tower, PUBG Mobile generated USD 2.6 billion in 2020. This is up 64.3 percent from their revenue earnings in 2019. This beat the likes of Honor of Kings, Pokemon GO, Coin Master and Roblox.

The main reason was that PUBG Mobile’s new China version Game of Peace helped PUBG Mobile garner plenty of revenue. PUBG Mobile’s global edition is also seeing plenty of activity with the European consumers getting a big boost. There are reports that PUBG global corporation is shifting their servers to Germany in order to boost game compatibility.

Ban in India hurts gamers

The ban on PUBG Mobile India has hurt the gamers significantly and despite an effort for a launch in March 2021, there is fear in PUBG Mobile India that the market will be captured by FAU-G (Fearless and United Guards).

FAU-G, which is conceptualized by nCore Games, is a made in India brand and if all goes to plan, there are reports that FAU-G will be launched around the New Year time.

However, there have been no official statements from FAU-G or nCore Games. PUBG Mobile’s battle royale situation and FAU-G’s reported realistic situation might prove to be a difference maker for India as it plans to make big strides in the world of gaming.
