Netflix launches mobile games for Android and iOS users: install and play details

Netflix Games are now available on your iPhone about a week after they arrived on Android. The five initial games Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Teeter (Up), and Card Blast – will be available to download individually from the App Store.

Interestingly, Netflix subscribers can access all of them from the main app on the iPhone, unlike previous speculation that suggested the App Store’s strict policies would stop Netflix from unifying the streaming and gaming content. Apart from the five launch games, iOS users will be able to play Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story, which costs $10 on Nintendo Switch and PC, for free.

Netflix subscribers do not need to pay anything extra to play these games; they come bundled with your subscription, no matter what tier it is. Netflix currently has four plans: Rs 199 for the Mobile plan, Rs 499 for the Basic plan, Rs 649 for the Standard plan, and Rs 799 for the Premium plan.

Since all games are available on both Android and iOS, no one missed out on what Netflix thinks is its major step into the gaming industry. Apple does not allow a third-party app to become a gaming hub. That is the reason why Google Stadia or any other cloud gaming app is not available on the iPhone or iPad.

For now, Netflix seems to have found a workaround because the games are showing on the main video streaming app. But I am not sure if this will last long as the pressure from other companies will grow eventually.
