While it could build the hopes of millions of PUBG India fans further, the gaming company has added more members to its team in India.
In a major development, parent company Krafton Inc has recently appointed Aneesh Aravind as the new Country Manager for India.
With over 15 years of experience in the gaming industry, Aneesh Aravind has worked with game giants like Tencent and Zynga. According to Indoor Sports, Krafton Inc got more people by recruiting four more people to the team.
It should be noted that these four people were part of Tencent, the company responsible for the global release rights of PUBG Mobile. New members of the team are Akash Jumde (Visual Content Designer), Piyush Agarwal (Chief Financial Officer), Arpita Priyadarshini (Senior Community Manager) and Karan Pathak (Senior Esports Manager).
All newly hired Krafton people were previously part of Tencent, which has the copyright to the global version of PUBGM. Players go through an endless wait for PUBG India to be re-launched with India’s return to the game unclear.
Any new activity or advertisement from the company is good enough to keep the hype and anticipation of PUBG going. The appointment of Aravind as Director of India is a major development, although it is too early to speculate on anything beyond that.
PUBG is still awaiting approval from the Ministry of Electronics, Information and Technology (MeitY). It was recently learned that MEITY said that the central government had not granted permission to restart PUBG Mobile in India.
PUBG Corporation executives had been chasing MeitY officials for over a month for a meeting but had yet to get an appointment from the government side. The delay in obtaining permission means that PUBG Mobile India will not be launched in the Indian market in the near future.
