Bank Alert : Syndicate bank IFSC Codes changes effect from July 1: Check here how you can find new code

Canara Bank has informed customers that IFSC codes of the erstwhile Syndicate bank branches will change with effect from July 1, 2021. Customers will have to use the new CANARA IFSC for receiving funds through NEFT/RTGS/IMPS, the bank said in a statement.

How to get the new IFSC?

To get the new IFSC, customers will have to go to the URL canarabank.Com/IFSC.Html or access the website of Canara Bank or by visiting any Canara Bank Branch. Customers of the erstwhile Syndicate Bank will also have to get new cheque books with changed IFSC and MICR codes.

For the uninitiated, the IFSC or Indian Financial System Code is a unique, eleven-character alpha-numeric code mandatory for completing NEFT, RTGS or IMPS transactions. Each bank branch will have a unique code.

The swift code of erstwhile Syndicate Bank (SYNBINBBXXX) which is used for sending or receiving SWIFT messages for Foreign Exchange transactions will also be discontinued with effect from July 1, 2021. “All our customers are advised to use the swift code (CNRBINBBFD) for any of their Foreign Exchange needs”, the statement added.
