Udupi: Aadhaar mandatory for Kollur temple entry: Udupi district Administration orders new rules for devotees of Kerala

Udupi: Kollur Mookambika Temple, one of the major shrines of the state, is visited by thousands of devotees every day. The Aadhaar mandate for the devotees attending the Kollur Temple has been issued by the Udupi district administration.

Coronavirus infection rate is increasing in Udupi district. A large number of devotees from Kerala are coming to Karnataka to visit kollur temple. Therefore, the district government has issued this directive to take precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus.

The Corona Negative Report, made more than 72 hours ago, is mandatory for those arriving from Kerala to Udupi district. The highest number of students from Kerala is studying in Nursing Colleges in Udupi District. Therefore, the decision was taken at a meeting held today by the district management to avoid corona.

The Udupi district has already deployed special personnel for Aadhaar inspection in Kollur. Aadhaar card is mandatory to enter the Kollur temple. If the devotee fails to submit the Aadhaar card, temple access is denied. Inspection personnel have been instructed to take stringent measures.
