Speaking at the Prabuddha Karnataka Janamana Conference held at Devaraja Arasu Bhawan, Janamana Foundation and Samata Study Center in the city today, he said that there is a demand to declare a holiday for women employees and students. He said that a suitable decision will be taken after checking this.

There should be peace, order and business friendly environment to attract global capital. GDP increases as employment is created through capital investment. Therefore, there should be a peaceful society without caste-religion conflict, he said.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday attacked the National Education Policy, saying it is incompatible with the federal system and has several anomalies that undermine the Constitution and democracy. In his budget speech in the Legislative Assembly, he said the Karnataka government would formulate a new education policy keeping in mind the local social, cultural and economic milieu of the state.
