Section 144 imposed in Dakshina Kannada district till August 6

After the killing of three people in the district, the situation was like a pit covered with ashes. In this background, a prohibitory order was already implemented under Section 144 imposed as a precautionary measure. Now the ban has been extended till August 6. In this regard, the Dakshina Kannada District Collector has issued an order and said that the prohibitory order under Section 144 has been continued as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident in the district. The ban has been extended till August 6, 2022. Liquor shops in the district will also be closed for the next two days, the order said.

The district administration has extended the evening curfew throughout Dakshina Kannada district for two more days following a request by the police department. Since the situation is volatile in the region following the murders in Bellare and Surathkal, as a precautionary measure, barring essential services all other public activities, businesses and establishments will continue to remain closed from 6 PM to 6 AM shut till on August 1 morning.

The prohibitory orders are in place from July 29 evening. Issuing the order, deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V said from 6 AM to 6 PM regular activities will go on as usual.

It has been learned that an unknown car was found near Inna village of Karkala taluk of Udupi district. A Hyundai car was found in a deserted area near Inna village. Locals informed the police when they saw an unknown car. Mangaluru police rushed to the spot and are investigating. Besides, they are investigating whether this car is related to Fazil murder case in Suratkal, Mangaluru.

Fazil was attacked and killed with deadly weapons in Surathkal on Thursday night. The miscreants ran away after attacking Fazil from Mangala town, who had come to buy slippers for a young man, and attacked Fazil with a spear in front of the shop. The young man tried to escape but could not.
