Puttur MLA Ashok Rai appeals minister to provide more KSRTC buses

The government of Karnataka has announced free bus travel for women in the state in all their government-run buses except Ac and Luxury bus start from tomorrow June 11. Puttur MLA Ashok Rai appeals minister to provide more KSRTC buses to rural areas.

Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai has urged Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy to increase the number of KSRTC Buses at Puttur depot and appoint sufficient staff for the benefit of the people in rural areas.The MLA said that he met the minister in Bengaluru and demanded to fill the vacant posts of drivers and other technical staff at Puttur depot.

Earlier there was no shortage of buses in Puttur unit of KSRTC. However, the number of buses has been reduced following the Covid-19 lockdown. The MLA said that he has requested the minister to resolve the problems of the villagers who are suffering. Ashok Rai said that it has been brought to the attention of the minister that many staff has been transferred from Puttur and there is an administrative problem at the depot.

He said that he has submitted a request to the minister and the principal secretary of the department and informed that the minister has agreed to consider the demands. The MLA said that he has submitted a request to Ramalingareddy, who is also the Minister of the Mujarai Department, seeking permission to purchase land for the temple at the Uppinangadi.

I have sought permission from Mujarai department to buy land for Sahasralingeshwar temple in Uppinangady. It is a famous temple which attracts lakhs of devotees from the district and outside states.
