Mangaluru: Green signal for school opening in Dakshina Kannada

Coronavirus infection rates have decreased along the coastal Karnataka. In this backdrop, the Dakshina Kannada district, which has cancelled the Weekend curfew, is now giving the green signal to open schools in district.

The 8th, 9th and 10th grades will start from September 17. Children of parents who are reluctant to send their children to school along with Kerala students are advised to conduct online classes. Dakshina Kannada District Collector Dr KV Rajendra said the 8th classes will be held in the afternoon, while the 9th and 10th classes will be held in the morning.

It is suggested to conduct physical classes only in science colleges in graduate colleges. We will discuss with the Mangaluru University administration about the beginning of the remaining classes and take a final decision. He also said that there are a lot of requests for the commencement of final degree classes.

Though school and college have been started all over the state, Dakshina Kannada district has not started school in the wake of coronavirus infection and the rising coronavirus in Kerala. The corona positivity Rate in the District is down now.
