An incident like Karnataka Minister V Somanna slapping of a woman who had come to express her problem took place in Hangala village of Gundlupet taluk of the district yesterday (Aug 22) evening. Karnataka Minister V Somanna slapped woman who came to report the problem.

The program for distribution of land rights to 175 people in the village was scheduled at 3.30 pm. But the minister has arrived at 6:30 pm. Thus there has been a rush to get the land document.

A woman went to a minister to express her problem. This time Karnataka Minister V Somanna slapped the woman. After the incident, the police clarified the situation.

Anand Mamani, MLA of Savadatti Assembly Constituency, Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly passed away in a private hospital in Bangalore. He was ill for many days. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai several days ago. But later he was shifted to a private hospital in Bangalore. So far, the treatment has not been effective and he has died.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has condoled the death of Anand Mamani. Deeply saddened to learn of the demise of our party MLA, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly. I pray that God may rest his soul in eternal peace and give his family strength to bear his pain,” he tweeted.

He entered politics through JDS and joined BJP in 2008. He was elected as a BJP MLA for 3 consecutive times from 2008 and created history in the Savadatti constituency by winning a hat-trick. He was elected as Deputy Speaker in March 2020. He is survived by his wife and two children. Ananda Mamani’s mortal remains will be shifted to Savadatti in Belgaum district. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon. Political dignitaries, legislators and ministers have condoled the death of MLA Mamani.
