Karnataka Issued new guidelines: A slight increase in Covid cases has been recorded in the neighbouring state in the last 8-10 days. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai hold a Covid emergency meeting to review the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state on Monday at 12.30 pm. Karnataka Health Department on Monday said that wearing facemasks is mandatory as a preventive step to control the surge of Covid-19 cases. “A slight increase in Covid cases has been recorded in the neighbouring state in the last 8-10 days. The health department has decided to keep an eye on people coming from countries like South Korea, and Thailand,” said Health Minister K Sudhakar.

“It is very important to follow Covid-19 guidelines as earlier the Covid second wave started slowly and later exploded. Scientists are currently studying the virus variants. Also, Experts have suggested suitable precautionary measures and guidelines would be soon issued for Covid management in the state after the video conference with the prime minister on April 27,” he added.

CM Bommai said on Sunday that state government would release the guidelines later, Covid management will take clear precautions based on past experiences. The advice of scientists and experts will also be sought. After April 27 will prepare covid guidelines.

Speaking to media persons, Bommai said, “The Union government has already issued a caution alert. A slight increase in cases has been recorded in Kerala and Maharashtra in the last 8-10 days. Based on the experience of the last three waves, experts too have suggested suitable precautionary measures.
