Karnataka Heavy Rainfall: Heavy rains continue across the state, the state highway has been washed away due to heavy rains in Chikmagalur district. Karnataka Heavy Rainfall: Sringeri-Agumbe road closed. Due to heavy rains in Chikkamagaluru district, the state highway near Neeolkodige in Sringeri has washed away up to 100 feet and vehicular traffic has been completely blocked.

The Chikmagalur Sringeri-Agumbe route is completely closed due to the state highway being washed away. Chikkamagaluru district holidays have been announced for Anganwadi, Primary and High Schools in Mudigere and Koppa taluks.

Kalaburgi District also pouring heavy rainfall from week. Disaster Management has appointed district level officers as nodal officers for the villages of different taluks of the district for emergency protection and relief work in the flood affected areas.

Which may occur in flood affected areas as per forecast, the chairman of the authority meteorological department and District Collector Yashwant V. Gurukar issued an order. It has been informed in the order that the appointed officials should immediately take other precautionary measures including evacuation of people and livestock due to flood in the villages of their respective taluks, taking charge of the relief centres.
