Karnataka: Heavy Rainfall alert for next 5 days

The India Meteorological Department has given a forecast that the rains that have been pouring incessantly for the past one week will recur in the coastal districts. Not only Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu district will receive heavy rain today and strong wind will blow tomorrow. Also, from July 13, heavy rain will fall again in the state, according to the Meteorological Department.

A red alert was announced for three days in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts. Till yesterday there was heavy rain in Udupi district. Many families were relocated by the district administrations due to water entering the houses in most of the places. Also, as a precautionary measure, holidays were announced for schools and colleges.

According to the forecast given by the India Meteorological Department, there will be heavy rainfall today in coastal districts like Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada and Kodagu district. Heavy winds are likely to blow in coastal districts like Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts tomorrow and people are advised to be alert.

Rain continues in Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts. After July 13, the state is likely to receive heavy rainfall again. Despite record rainfall in coastal and hilly districts, the rainfall has declined in most parts of the state this time.
