Anna Bhagya Scheme: Money will deposited for beneficiary account from tomorrow

Anna Bhagya Scheme: Among the five guarantee schemes given by the Congress government, Shakti Yojana and Gruha Jyoti Yojana have already been implemented. Now the government has announced that it will give cash instead of rice to Anna bhagya beneficiaries. Money will deposited for beneficiary account from tomorrow.

In this background money will be credited to the accounts of the account holders from tomorrow. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will launch the project at 5 pm. The Congress party in the state has announced that it will give 10 kg of rice each to Anna bhagya beneficiaries in the elections.

Out of 10 kg rice, five kg of rice is being given by the central government, but in the absence of availability of additional five kg of rice, the state government has announced that it will give money instead of rice. Similarly, the money will be deposited in the Anna bhagya beneficiaries’ accounts in a phased manner from tomorrow.

The Siddaramaiah-led leadership in Karnataka decided last week to give cash to the beneficiaries of the scheme instead of rice after facing a shortage in supply. The Congress government is facing hiccups in the implementation of multiple schemes that were a part of their poll manifesto.

Cash at the rate of Rs 34 per kilo will be credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts. Food and Civil Supplies minister K H Muniyappa assured that the money would be transferred into the beneficiaries’ account in 15 days. “On July 10 at 5 pm, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will start the drive.

Money for the Anna Bhagya scheme would be directly deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries. In 15 days, every beneficiary will get the money,” Muniyappa said. He also added that there are 1.29 crore BPL ration card holding families in the state, which make up for 4.41 crore beneficiaries. The state tried to acquire sufficient amounts of rice but the Centre did not give it, the minister further stated.
