Retirement grant, death grant and family pension facility to Karnataka government employees under NPS has been ordered to be retroactive from April 1, 2006 instead of April 1, 2018. Since the order was issued to make the facility of retirement, death and family pension effective from April 1, 2018.

It has been decided in the committee meeting of SPS officials held on August 23, 2021 to apply this facility to the cases that have died or retired since 2006. The earlier order of facility has been modified and extended with effect from 1st April, 2006 to make it applicable to NPS officers and Karnataka government employees.

School teacher recruitment: The provisional selection list was published in the ratio of 1:1 for the recruitment of 15,000 graduate school teachers (Graduate School Teacher Recruitment) in various schools of the state. Karnataka High Court order stay on 15000 teacher recruitment in state.

Now the High Court (Karnataka High Court) has given a restraining order to this selection list. The provisional selection list for the recruitment of 15,000 graduate primary teachers has been published as there are vacancies in state schools.

Only 13,363 candidates were selected for 15,000 posts. Another 1,637 posts remained vacant without qualified candidates. Akshata Chowgale had approached the High Court regarding the provisional selection list for the recruitment of graduate primary school teachers as announced by the Education Department.

A lawyer named Lata Shetty argued on his behalf. A bench comprising Justice M Nagaprasanna of the High Court heard this petition on 28-11-2022 and ordered a stay on the 1:1 temporary teacher selection list published on 18-11-2022 until further orders.

Similarly, a notification was issued on 21-03-2022 for the recruitment of 15,000 graduate primary school teachers. The education department said that the online application was given from 21-03-2022 to 22-04-2022. A total of 1,16,223 applied for another 15,000 school teacher posts.
