Karnataka: government announced 2024 holiday list
In this regard, the Under Secretary to the Government, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms has issued a gazette notification today. In it, the list of public holidays and limited holidays for the year 2024 has been published.
A few days ago, in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the list of government universal and limited holidays for the year 2024 was approved. After that the official order was made. A notification has been issued in the Karnataka Rajyapatra today.
In this regard, the Under Secretary to the Government, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms has issued a gazette notification today. In it, the list of public holidays and limited holidays for the year 2024 has been published.

1. which comes on Sundays in this holiday list Dr B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti (14.04.2024) and Mahavira Jayanti (21.04.2024) and Vijayadashami falling on second Saturday (12.10.2024) are not included in this holiday list.
2.Government offices across the state are closed on public holidays. The Heads of Departments should make proper arrangements for disposal of the necessary work of the office.
3. If the festivals of the Muslim relatives included in this list do not fall on the prescribed dates, the Muslim relatives in Government service may be granted holiday leave in lieu of the prescribed leave.
4. Date: 03.09.2024 (Tuesday) Kail Muhurta, Date: 17.10.2024 (Thursday) Libra Transit and Date: 14.12.2024 (Saturday) Huttri Festival have declared local public holiday applicable only in Kodagu district.
5. The Commissioner of Public Education will announce the list of separate holidays in respect of the Education Department.
6. In addition to the public holidays, the State Government employees may use the limited leave mentioned in the Annexure to Notification-1 in the year 2024 not exceeding two days with prior permission. The present permission shall be sanctioned by the authorities competent to grant casual leave.

2. Ananta Padmanabha Vrat (16.09.2024) on Monday Eid-Milad and Tula Sankraman (17.10.2024) on Thursday fall on public holidays declared on the occasion of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti, so this holiday is not included in the list.
