Karnataka Budget 2023: NPS cancelled, CM gives good news to govt employees

Karnataka Budget 2023: CM Siddaramaiah has given good news to Karnataka Govt Employees. CM Siddaramaiah has issued an order to form a committee to abolish National Pension Scheme (NPS) and implement Old Pension System (OPS) in the state. Speaking in the Legislative Council, Minister NS Bosraj said that the National Pension Scheme is in force in the state.

A committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Secretaries of the Government to conduct a study and submit a report on the measures taken regarding the implementation of the scheme in the states which have cancelled it and re-implemented the old pension scheme.

He informed that action will be taken in this regard after the study report of the committee is presented. The Central Government had implemented the National Pension Scheme on 1st January 2004. Karnataka State implemented National Pension Scheme for Government Employees from April 1, 2006.

But government employees have been opposing the National Pension Scheme. He also fought a lot. Even though the committee was formed during the previous BJP government, no action was taken. Now, even during the election, the NPS employees had fought.
