Karnataka Budget 2023: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presenting his 14th budget and 1st budget of congress government after winning Assembly Election 2023. Here is complete highlights of Siddaramaiah’s 14th budget.

If we look at how much funding is given to which department, ‘Education Department 37,000 crore grant reserve, Women and Child Welfare Department 24,000 crore, Energy Department 22,000 crore, Irrigation Department 19,000 crore, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Department 18,000 crore, Home Government & Transport Department 16,000 Crore.

Presenting the budget today, he said that government and aided school children are being given nutritious food to increase their nutrition. He said that peanut chikki, eggs and bananas are being given under the midday meal plan. Eggs are now being distributed once a week in government and aided schools of the state. It is being extended to two days. Eggs are given to students of class 1 to 10, he said.

Revenue Department 16,000 Crore, Health & Family Welfare Department 14,000 Crore, Social Welfare Department 11,000 Crore, Public Works Department 10,000 Crore, Agriculture & Horticulture Department 5,800 Crore and Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Department 3,024 Crore.

In Karnataka Budget CM Siddaramaiah said government has approved the new airport project at Vijayapura. In addition, construction of a medical college in Kanakapura has been mentioned. It has been decided to build dialysis in all taluk and district hospitals.

The Karnataka CM had earlier said the size of the state’s budget is likely to be Rs 3,35,000 crore, which is bigger than the previous budget’s size by Rs 25,000 crore. The size of the budget tabled by the earlier BJP regime was Rs 3.08 lakh crore.

1,62,000 crore tax collection target from 3 major departments:

The government has set a target of Rs 1,62,000 crore tax collection including Rs 1,01,000 lakh crore from the Commercial Tax Department, Rs 36,000 crore from the Excise Department, and Rs 25,000 crore from the Registration & Stamps Department.

Grants for permanent solution to drinking water problem:

The government has decided to take up 172 projects for a permanent solution to the problem of drinking water. 770 crore has been kept in reserve to fill 19 lakes with water. It has been decided to fill a total of 823.99 lakes including Belgavi, Davangere, Bellary, Haveri, Gadag, Bidar, Uttara Kannada, Vijayanagar, Koppal, Kalaburagi and Yadagiri.

Decision to set up the country’s first organ transplant hospital:

A huge contribution has been made to the health sector in the budget and a decision has been taken to upgrade Koppala, Karwara, Kodugu District Hospital. It has been decided to establish a new medical college in Kanakapura taluk, super specialty hospital in Mysore, Kalaburagi, Belagavi and to establish the first organ transplant hospital in the country. Trauma care centres will be opened in Mysuru and Kalaburagi at a cost of 30 crores.

CM announced Rs 45,000 crore grants for Bengaluru:

CM Siddaramaiah, who gave a bumper contribution to Bengaluru, allocated Rs 45,000 crore to Bangalore in the budget. Grant 45,000 crores for Bengaluru White Topping, Road Development, Fresh Maintenance, Raj Canal Clearing & Repair, Metro, Bangalore Suburban Railway Project, Brand Bengaluru.

Zero interest loan limits for farmers increased from 3 lakh to 5 lakh:

Zero interest loan limits for farmers has been increased from 3 lakhs to 5 lakhs. In addition, the medium-term and long-term loan limit has been increased from 10 lakh to 15 lakh, and farmers in hilly areas will be given a loan of up to 7 lakh for the purchase of a pick van.
