IMD issued heavy rainfall Alert in these states including Karnataka

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of India for the next two days and also issued an advisory to fishermen not to venture into the sea. IMD issued heavy rainfall Alert in these states including Karnataka.

Although in Karnataka the rainfall has reduced across the state, moderate rainfall is expected in some places. The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall especially in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada on Thursday, August 3.

In addition, yellow alert has been announced on August 3 in the hilly districts like Shivamogga, Kodagu and Hassan. Meanwhile, moderate rain is likely in southern inland areas like Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru.

A small amount of rain is expected in districts like Kalaburagi, Yadgiri, Bidar, Raichur etc. in the northern hinterland districts. The usual rainfall which was deficient in the month of June, rained heavily in the month of July. Heavy rainfall in North Karnataka and South Inland regions as well. Coastal and hilly districts have also received heavy rainfall since mid-July.

In the coming 24 hours, heavy rainfall is likely in North Odisha districts and other districts. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea.” The District Collector announced school holiday in Balagir districts. Before the weather department had said that the red warning has been for four districts, orange for 13 and yellow for 10 districts in Odisha.

A red alert has been issued for Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar and an orange warning for Jajpur, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Sundergarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri and Balasore. A yellow alert for heavy rains has been issued in Mumbai for the next two days on 2-3 August.

Apart from Mumbai, yellow alert has been issued in Palghar, Thane, Sindhudurg. An orange alert has also been issued in Raigad and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra. Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Coastal Karnataka during 2nd-4th August.
