IMD issued Heavy Rainfall alert: Another shock has come to the people of the state, who are reeling from the cold, as the weather department has predicted that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall across the state including Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Bengaluru from Monday. IMD issued Heavy Rainfall alert in Karnataka from today.

From December 5th to December 8th, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in coastal and southern hinterlands of Karnataka. The India Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Malnadu, Coastal and North Karnataka including Bengaluru.

Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, districts and coastal Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall for four days from Monday. A low-pressure system in the Nicobar Islands will travel west-northwest and develop into a cyclonic storm in the mouth of the Bay of Bengal by Wednesday evening.

After that, strong winds will occur along the east coast of Tamil Nadu until Thursday due to the storm. However, this system will decline rapidly into a depression before landing and then making landfall around Puducherry on Friday afternoon.

Monday (December 5)

Scattered thunderstorms are likely in Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the southern tip of the subcontinent. Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and adjoining Kerala, Mahe, south Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka.

In the early morning, fog is likely in central parts of Uttar Pradesh and in Andhra Pradesh. Hazardous air pollution is expected in NCR and over the plains of the North.

Tuesday (December 6)

Scattered thunderstorms are likely in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and adjoining Kerala, Mahe, south Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka.

In the early morning, fog is possible in Andhra Pradesh. Hazardous air pollution is likely in North India, particularly in NCR.
