Yellow alert has been announced in Tumkur, Ramanagara, Bangalore City, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapur, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Chamarajanagar, Kolar, Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru districts.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in the south hinterland of Karnataka today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain warning for the next 4 days as the Northeast Monsoon approaches the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh, several states of South India will experience heavy rain today.
