Heavy Rainfall Alert in Karnataka for next 5 days

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted Heavy rainfall in several states including Karnataka for the next five days. Light to moderate rains (Karnataka Rainfall) are expected in the central, eastern and western parts of the country, while heavy rains are expected in some states in the southern and northeaster parts. The IMD said that there will be no heat wave in most parts of the country for the next five days. Meanwhile in central India, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience light to moderate rains with thundershowers in the next 5 days, the department said.

Over south, widespread rain with thundershowers is likely over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala. However, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Kerala from April 26 to 30 and over North Karnataka, Telangana on April 26, 27. Coastal Andhra Pradesh on April 27 and south interior Karnataka on April 29, 30.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from April 28 to 30 and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on April 29 and 30. In the western part, light to scattered rain is forecast over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada, while light rain is expected over Gujarat in the next 5 days.

Heatwave conditions are unlikely to return to most parts of India till the end of the month and fresh rain is expected in the northwest region from Friday, the IMD said on Monday. While the maximum temperature in Northwest, Madhya and East India fluctuated between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius on Sunday, it was between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country except the Western Himalayan region.
