However, from next month everyone will get 10 kg each instead of they gave money. Food and Civil Supplies Department Minister K.H. Muniyappa said that rice will be distributed from next month. Further, all eligible ration beneficiaries under Anna Bhagya Yojana in the state will get 10 kg rice each from next month (October).
Tender process for supply of rice has already been done. First of all, they have informed that they will give rice instead of money in the taluk which was initially declared drought-prone.
But now the government has given a big shock to those who were getting free Anna Bhagya ration with BPL card holder. The Food Department has come forward and will conduct a survey to find out those who have received BPL card despite not being eligible.
Due to the Anna Bhagya Yojana, which is one of the guarantee schemes already announced by the government, the number of people getting BPL cards has also increased. Meanwhile, the state government is currently in the process of identifying the eligible beneficiaries.
Food department is getting the information of those who are benefiting from the government schemes even though they are not eligible. Now government Verification of criteria including fixed annual income, white board car, owned land, government job. If the card is used within the criteria, it will be cancelled. Should not have more than 3 hectares of dry land
Annual income should not exceed 1.2 lakhs
Should not be any government employee
Should not have four wheeler white board card
Area of house in city side should not exceed 1000 sqt.
