Good news for police constable aspirants: Govt orders increase in age limit

The state government has issued an order increasing the age limit for recruitment of civil, CAR, DAR, police constable by 2 years. This will be applicable only for constable recruitment for the year 2022-23. Good news for police constable aspirants: Govt orders increase in age limit.

The maximum recruitment age of the state police constable has been increased once before and now it has been ordered to increase it to two years. In this regard, the Under Secretary to the Government of the District Administration Department has fixed the maximum age limit for the posts of Police Constable (Civil) and Police Constable (CAR and DAR).

Police constable recruitment has been called for one time only in the year 2022-23. (CAR and DAR) 420+3064 total 3484 posts. And only 1591 posts including Police Constable (Civil) 1137+454 have been increased by two years.

The maximum age limit for the post of Police Constable has been increased from 25 to 27 years for general category and from 27 to 29 years for SC/ST and backward classes and from 32 years for ST candidates. The age limit for in-service candidates has been increased to 35 years for SC/ST candidates and 33 years for other candidates.

Percentage for Police Constable posts in Armed Forces. The maximum age limit is fixed at 31 years for general category and 33 years for SC/ST and other backward classes with provision of 10% reservation.
