Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge, former deputy CM G Parameshwara and senior leader MB Patil are among the first MLAs among eight to be made ministers in CM Siddaramaiah’s new cabinet.

They are expected to be sworn in during the oath-taking ceremony in Bengaluru’s Kanteerava stadium today. Senior leaders MB Patil and G Parameshwara, a Lingayat and a Dalit leader, respectively, were among those who nursed ambitions of being named chief minister.

There was a huge competition for the post of Chief Minister and DCM in the Congress party. Ministerial allocation has become a headache for the Congress high command as the stubbornness ended with Siddaramaiah ‘s chief minister, DK Shivakumar, becoming the DCM.

Many MLAs have started demand for minister posts. In some places the demands of activists and leaders are being heard. Now congress leaders are demanding that Rona Constituency MLA GS Patil be given ministerial post.

Congress leaders have warned that will give Mass Resignation If they not given minister post to Rona Constituency MLA GS Patil. The Congress leaders held a meeting in the city and warned that would resign from all posts if GS Patil will not become minister. Also warned that he will protest in front of the KPCC office on May 23.

Speaking in the meeting, the leaders said that every time the Congress government comes to power, injustice is done to the Rona constituency. He has been elected four times as an MLA and has been organizing the Congress party for four decades. This time they insisted that GS Patil should be given a minister post.

Rona Congress leaders have warned AICC and KPCC leaders that they will boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha, District and Taluk Panchayat elections along with mass resignations and protests if Patil loses the ministerial position. It is so unfair to Rona Constituency. He said that injustice will not be tolerated this time.
