Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway: Pay extra fine if cross this speed limit

Cracking down on over speeding motorists to stem the alarming number of accidents on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, the Ramanagara police on Tuesday, July 4, deployed three mobile speed radar guns and booked 44 vehicles (as of 10.30 p.m.) crossing the permissible limits of 100 kmph. In the last few days, the number of accidents on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway is increasing. So the Ramnagar police have decided to put a brake on the speed of the vehicles. The traffic police has installed an interceptor near Channapatna in Ramanagara and is conducting speed checks, and drivers who cross the speed limit will be imposed fined for Rs 1000.

Police have installed barricades on the highway, car speed limit is 100, bike speed limit is 80 and truck, lorry bus speed limit is 60. Pay Rs 1000 if the car goes at 101 speeds. Fines are being imposed. The motorists are cursing the action of the police; on the one hand they have to pay the toll, now they have to pay the fine. The drivers say they don’t know what to say.
