Bakrid 2022 : Karnataka Government issued new guidelines

Bengaluru: Guidelines for the celebration of Bakrid 2022, the holy festival of Muslim devotees, have been published by the Karnataka Government. Despite the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, it has been suggested to celebrate Bakrid by following some rules.

In this regard, the Deputy Secretary of the Minority Welfare, Hajj and Waqf Department has issued a circular and said that the Rajya Chandradarshan Committee has announced that the second most important festival of Muslims, Bakrid (Eid-ul-Az Ha), will be celebrated on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

As the holy festival of Bakrid (eid ul adha 2022) has to be celebrated across the state with peace, order and harmony, the following guidelines are mandatory.

Guidelines for the celebration of Bakrid festival in Karnataka:

– Mandatory observance of Covid-19 control guidelines during mass prayers on the festival day

– Performing Qurbani without violating the provisions of the Karnataka Cattle Slaughter Prevention and Universal Act 2020

– Qurbani has been banned in public areas, roads, schools and colleges, hospital premises, parks and other public places.

– Qurbani should be performed only at the places designated by the district administration and local administrative bodies.

– It is mandatory to maintain cleanliness and hygiene while performing Qurbani.

– Effective disposal of animal waste in a suitable manner without causing any inconvenience to the public

– General and local directions should be followed compulsorily.

– Advised to follow the guidelines issued by the state government and district administration regarding the celebration of Bakrid festival without fail.
