Yes, this is not a Sachin; See his son smashes five sixes in an over, a week before the IPL 2021 auction

A week before the IPL 2021 auction, Arjun Tendulkar, the son of India legend Sachin Tendulkar, returned to form and smashed an unbeaten 31-ball 77 in the 73rd Police Invitation Shield Cricket tournament. Arjun, who is also a handy batsman, hogged the limelight when he smashed 5 sixes in an over bowled by off-spinner Hashir Dafedar.

The all-rounder also scalped 3 wickets as MIG Cricket Club won the game by a big margin of 194 runs. In total, Arjun’s knock included 8 sixes and five fours, the report adds. Arjun has returned to form at the right time as the auction for the IPL 2021 season is set to take place on Thursday (February 18).

Arjun, who recently made his T20 debut for Mumbai, didn’t have a memorable outing and only managed two wickets in as many matches in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The former India U-19 pacer also struggled in the practice matches ahead of the team selection for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

As a result, he isn’t part of the squad for the 50-over tournament. Arjun is available at his base price of Rs 20 lakh and is highly expected to draw a bid. Apart from his all-round abilities, Arjun will also carry much-needed media attention to the franchise which will bid for him in the auction.

Will Arjun Tendulkar draw a bid in IPL auction?

No doubts about it. Arjun is highly expected to draw a bid but it remains to be seen if Mumbai Indians (MI) bid for him or not. The left-arm pacer has been with them as a net bowler for past couple of seasons and had also travelled to UAE for IPL 2020. Should MI bid for him, Arjun will join the team which his father captained. Sachin is presently the icon of five-time IPL Champions.
