The knock of 129 off just 60 balls now stands as the highest ever scored by a batter in the IPL playoffs. The score also took his run tally to 851 runs this season, making him the second Indian batter after Kohli to score 800 or more runs in a season, while his overall tally is now the third-best.

Amid the Gujarat Titans Shubman Gill made a sensational century in just 44 balls against the 5-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians in a do-or-die match, cricket legend Virat Kohli has praised the 23-year-old in his own style. Taking to Instagram, Kohli shared an image of Gill in his story with a ‘star’ sign.

It is to be known that Gill has said it several times that Kohli is is ‘idol’. Shubman Gill played a thunderous innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and scored 129 runs in just 60 balls. He hit 7 fours and 10 sixes with a strike rate of 215.

By the time Shubman was sent back to the pavilion by Akash Madhwal in the last ball of 17th over, GT had already touched 192 runs after losing 2 wickets. This was Gill’s third century of IPL 2023 for Gujarat Titans, which he completed in just 43 balls and what a time he has chosen to score a century.
