Team India big update; KL Rahul available for Asia Cup 2023

Star Indian batsman KL Rahul, who has been out of Team India since May 1, 2023 due to injury, is all set to return to the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Team India big update; KL Rahul available for Asia Cup. The 31-year-old star right-handed batsman is likely to be India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman for the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup 2023, The Times of India reported on Friday (August 4).

The Karnataka batsman, who was injured during the IPL match in Lucknow on May 1 and underwent a thigh surgery, is now fully fit and available for selection. Also, TOI reported that there is a possibility of returning to Team India for Asia Cup 2023.

The 2023 Asia Cup will begin on August 30 with a match between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan. The final of this tournament will be held on September 17 in Colombo. India will open their account against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in Colombo.

KL Rahul’s return to Team India will bring some relief to the team. Because the unavailability of wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant and middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer had already caused a huge setback for the Indian team. Now Rahul’s re-entry will not only strengthen the middle order in the team, but he will also do wicket keeping.

Rahul, who is currently undergoing training at the National Cricket Academy, has started his batting and keeping practice on the advice of coaches and medical experts. KL Rahul himself is giving this idea through videos and photos on his social media account. KL Rahul has played a total of 54 ODI matches for Team India, in which he has managed to score 1986 runs at an average of 45.13.
