As September 16 is the last day to select the team for the T20 World Cup, there are chances that the selection of the Indian team will be done a day before the deadline. BCCI selection committee members will meet in Mumbai to select Team India for the World Cup. The selection of the team will be based on the performance of the players in the Asia Cup tournament.
The Asia Cup tournament will be held in the UAE from August 27 to September 11, and India will face arch-rivals Pakistan in their first match on September 28 in Dubai. India will start their campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup tournament with a match against Pakistan. This high-voltage match will be held on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground
Rohit Sharma-led India have been placed in Group-2 with Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and a winner in the qualifiers.

– A team can have a total of 23 members including 15 players and 8 support staff.
