T20 World Cup 2024: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the schedule for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the West Indies and the United States of America. The T20 tournament will be held from June 1 to 29.

Team USA will face Team Canada in the opening match on June 1. The T20 World Cup Final will be held in Barbados on June 29. Team India will start their campaign against Ireland on June 5. The match between India and Pakistan will be played in New York on June 9.

India and Pakistan, USA, Ireland and Canada are in Group ‘A’. The last time India and Pakistan met in the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2022, the two teams produced a thriller and a Virat Kohli masterclass led the Rohit Sharma-led team to victory.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Group B comprises the last two winners of the men’s T20 World Cup in England and Australia, with the pair facing Namibia, Scotland and Oman.
West Indies are placed in Group C alongside New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea, while Group D sees South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal.

The 55 matches of the competition will be played at six different venues in the West Indies (Kensington Oval, Barbados; Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad; Providence Stadium, Guyana; Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua; Darren Sammy Cricket Ground, St. Lucia; Arno’s Vale Stadium, St. Vincent) and Three locations in the USA (Eisenhower Park, New York; Lauderhill, Florida; and Grand Prairie, Texas).
