Swedish former Tennis player Björn Borg taught Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai to lesson of time

Time and waves wait for no one, time is the essence in sports. Athletes place a lot of importance on time in their lives. 11-time Grand Slam champion of Swedish Björn Borg taught Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai a lesson of time at the ongoing Bangalore Open Tennis Championship in Bangalore. The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association had decided to honor Björn Borg and former Indian tennis player Vijay Amritraj on Tuesday morning. The event was not part of the Bangalore Open Tennis Championship. But it is a matter of pride to honor the five times Wimbledon and six times French Open title winner of Sweden Björn Borg and India’s Vijay Amritraj.

Karnataka State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai decided to organize a program at Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Institute at 9:30 am. But the Chief Minister arrived at 11:10 due to other work. Meanwhile, Björn Borg was tired of coming to the place of honor twice. He then sat in the gallery with his wife to watch their son Leo Borg’s first round match. As soon as the Chief Minister arrived, the organizers requested Björn Borg to attend the function. But Björn Borg, who puts a lot of emphasis on time, did not accept the honor and continued to watch the match. The chief minister watched the match for some time in the VIP gallery and left disappointed.

Time waits for no one

It may the Prime Minister or the Chief Minister. An athlete wins a championship through hard work. It can give him a high status in the society. But in the path of that achievement, he has learned many life lessons. Punctuality is one of them. It is impossible to find this kind of punctuality in politicians. If he is called as the chief guest for the school anniversary, there are more incidents of children waiting in the sun and falling head over heels. There are no examples of any work of politicians being in time. But politicians can talk for hours about punctuality, health, commitment, discipline.

Politicians do not have the same interest in political gatherings as in sports events like this. He always comes a little late. Basavaraj Bommai is the Chief Minister of Karnataka. They also have many responsibilities. They don’t treat athletes the way they treat this program. Björn Borg knows that watching his son play is more important than the honor that I get. Because he is a champion.

If a champion is late for a sports event, he may be disqualified from the tournament, but if a politician is late for an event, no one will think about it. Even the organizers act as if it did not affect the program in any way. But Björn Borg’s commitment to his decision shows his true champion quality. Many of them call its disrespect shown to the Chief Ministers, but even the Chief Ministers should know that time does not care for anyone.
