Rahane, Pujara Complained to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah About Virat Kohli’s Attitude

For quite some time Virat Kohli’s captaincy has been the subject of much speculation among cricket fans across the country. He may have shut out the rumours after announcing, citing workload burdens, his resignation as India’s T20 captain.

But now it seems there’s more to his resignation than Kohli would have us believe. As per reports, it happened after India’s eight-wicket loss to New Zealand at in the final of the World Test Championship at the Rose Bowl back in June.

Reportedly, two senior cricketers had raised the matter with Jay Shah, the Honorary Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), over the harsh treatment they received. Incidentally, India succumbed to a heavy defeat against New Zealand in that title clash in the wake of a batting collapse.

If reports are to be believed true, Virat Kohli pulled up Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane inside the dressing room and the incident seemed to have given rise to the big problem. Reports stated that the two batters called Jay Shah personally after which the BCCI had to intervene, they even asked for feedback from some of the other cricketers as well.
